Because 90% of the flowers sold in France come from
from Ecuador, Africa or Holland, than a bouquet of 30 roses
imported produce as much CO² as a Paris-London, it is time to
change our consumption patterns.
The Slow Flower movement is
arrived from the United States. Today, more and more initiatives are
launched in France to produce and consume a French flower,
local and seasonal, grown in a way that respects the land and
men.
My beliefs made me reflect on my work
and the meaning that I put in the choices and actions that I undertake.
The idea of developing a garden to meet my daily needs
is making its way and little by little, this garden is growing.
I cultivate
in permaculture, near Figeac, carefully chosen varieties, such as
a collection, I select the colors, the textures of which I have
need. I dry certain varieties, to have flowers to transform
in jewelry, crowns, buttonholes.
In the fall, I plant perennials, foliage hedges, spring flower bulbs.
In winter, which is calmer, I select the varieties of annuals that will be planted in the spring.
Such is the life of a flower garden...
